heat review: Kate’s Wedding by Chrissie Manby

[As reviewed in heat magazine, Issue 622]

Kate’s Wedding by Chrissie Manby
Hodder, £6.99
Published: 31 March 2011

The plot: Welcome to the worlds of Kate and Diana (yes, those are their names). Both girls are getting married this April and, while Kate gets excited and plans a day she never thought would come, Diana’s had the ring picked out for years and is not letting anyone help with her day.

What’s right with it? Chrissie Manby paints a vivacious picture of both girls and their men – and it takes just a few pages to empathise with Kate’s desire for happiness, while also wanting to give Diana a quick slap.

What’s wrong with it? Wedding tales can be a bit much if you’re not all loved-up yourself. Plus, it’s out in time to coincide with the Royal Wedding and the characters are called Kate and Diana, for goodness’ sake.

Verdict: Fans of the chick-lit will find this fun, frothy reading. * * * *
